One thing that we aren’t crazy about is that there can be an issue with temperature fluctuation. This is something that you will have to watch for to ensure that you don’t overcook or undercook your meats.
How to Use the Camp Chef Smokepro STX
One of the main reasons why we love this outdoor cooker is because there are so many ways to cook with it. Most barbecues aren’t going to have smoking options, let alone the option to be able to bake, braise, etc. It may take a bit of practice to get things exactly the way you want them, and you may have to fiddle with the heat range (160°F-500°F) until you find the settings that work for you.
Another option in the same price range that you may be interested in is the Z GRILLS ZPG-450A. This wood pellet barbecue and smoker also offers digital temperature controls, and is an ideal size for family backyard cookouts. One feature this grill has that you won’t find on the Camp Chef Smokepro STX is a waste oil collector on the side for easy cleanup. If you want some great recipes, you can visit the Z GRILLS website to find all kinds of delicious meals to cook on this grill.
The Camp Chef Smokepro STX is a bargain for anyone who loves to grill, and who loves to smoke their own meats. Other comparable models can sell for upwards of $1,000. The Camp Chef model has most of the same features as the more expensive models, and it is easy to use. You can almost literally set it and forget it and get perfectly smoked meats every time.
